Digital Workshop & Photo Contest
August 9-14, 2009
Here's
your chance to pick up photo pointers from a pro and
improve your underwater photography at our Digital
Underwater Photography Workshop and Photo Contest.
Digital cameras and lower cost housings have created
a boom in the number of divers who are bringing
cameras to capture the beautiful reefs of Cozumel.
This workshop is designed to show you
how to use your digital camera and get the
best shots possible when shooting underwater
in Cozumel. No camera is too big or too small!
Not only is this workshop a lot of fun, but
you'll learn all about how to improve your
underwater photography by shooting better and
improving on what you've captured by using
Adobe Photoshop.
Check out our photo
scrapbook for snapshots and our YouTube.com video
slideshow of the activities from previous
workshops.

Your
instructor and host is Bonnie
Pelnar, author of "The Digital Workflow for
Underwater Photographers", part of a series
of courses available at TheUnderwaterPhotographer.com.
Bonnie has made over 30 trips to Cozumel and she knows
where and how to find the best Cozumel has to offer
and can show you how to capture it with your camera.
In
addition to the presentations, slide shows and seminars,
Bonnie will be available to dive with you each day.
We will set up a special photographer's
boat, so if you wish to dive with the rest of the
shooters, you are welcome to come along.
At the end of the week we'll
be having a photo contest with awards and prizes!
The
workshop fee is $250 per person
for guests of Scuba Club Cozumel this week.
If your would like
to attend please contact
Bonnie to reserve your spot. We can no
longer accept walk-ins that have not contacted
Bonnie in advance.
Course prerequisites: You
must be a certified diver with intermediate
to advanced diving skills to attend this workshop.
The coral reefs
are very fragile, so we want to be assured
that you have your buoyancy under control before
you decide to dive with a camera. If you are
comfortable with your buoyancy but haven't
dived in a while and would like a refresher,
a
course in buoyancy control will be available
through the dive shop
on Saturday, Aug 7 and/or Sunday, Aug 8 before
the workshop begins. There is an extra fee
for this refresher course. Its highly recommended
if you're not used to carrying a camera.

Sea & Sea and H2O
Photo Pros will be providing some demo gear
that will be available for your use
at a discounted rental and/or purchase rate during this
workshop. We'll also be offering instruction on
how to use Alex
Mustard's Magic Filters for
those of you who wish to shoot without a strobe.
This
is a great opportunity to try new products
and accessories before buying! With
the addition of an external strobe
or filters to your digital housing,
you'll get GREAT SHOTS!
If
you're interested in trying demo gear, you
must contact Bonnie well in advance so we
can be sure
to bring
along the correct adapters and synch cords
for your camera or housing!
Thank
you to all our sponsors!
